Just Treats

What's more Halloween than a patch of pumpkins, spiders, and black cats?  I combined some Bo Bunny, Graphic 45, SEI, and We R Memory Keepers papers to create this layout with the "No Tricks, Just Treats" paper piecing from Scrapping Bug Designs.  I found the Lori Whitlock tag on her site and printed it to coordinate with the paper pieced spider.  The eyes on the cats are print and cut eyes from Scrapping Bug Designs.

Autumn

In just the last week and a half autumn finally decided to show up here.  Our first frost came a month later than usual.  Just as the trees came into their colors, the snow began falling.  I've had snow on the pass that I drive to work for three days this week.  I decided to make this layout before the fall season is entirely gone!  This layout features a combination of files from Scrapping Bug Designs:  "Fall Scarecrow" (sunflowers, pumpkins, and scarecrow), "Autumn" (title, and barrel with leaves), "Fabulous Fall" (fence), and "Just Beeing Cute" (wagon).  There are 162 pieces in all not counting the tag, mats, and border.  This layout was featured at Sugar and Spice Paper Co. for the October paper piecing class.  Thanks for looking.

Fishin' Tales

What person that fishes doesn't have some sort of fishing tale?  This layout features Bo Bunny Camp-a-Lot papers and paper piecings from My Scrap Chick.  The bear on the top right was enlarged to 180% so it would fit behind the mat.  Two trees from Scrapping Bug Designs were cut to continue the tree pattern from the left page to behind the dock.  I love the little bait shop and will be altering it to use on future woodsy layouts.

October Perfect Pages

This month I wanted to feature some of the latest shapes in scrapbooking trends: the chevron and hexagon.  The layouts do not feature photos due to them being a collection for a class at Sugar and Spice Paper Co.  Spaces have been left for individual personalization and journaling.

Fall

This layout uses a square punch cut diagonally to create the 2 1/2 rows of chevrons.  I am liking using this method with a variety of prints.   I must admit that individually I wouldn't have thought of this bright green and the aqua for a fall layout, but I like the non traditional feel to the layout.  The flowers are all made from circle and scallop punches and are topped with a button laced with some twine.  I'd love to finish this one off with a scarecrow on the right hand side with just enough space left above for some journaling.

The Great Outdoors

I have been inspired by the new Bo Bunny Camp-a-Lot line which is featured on both pages of this layout.  The marshmallow, brown dot, and hexagon papers are from Moxie.  The hexagons were individually cut and then puzzle pieced to make a path across the paper.  The mats are finished off with some fibers in burgundy and brown.  It's hard to see in this photo, but there is a paw print punched strip from an EK Success punch near the center of the right hand page.

Lazy Days of Summer

I loved the vibrant colors of the Bo Bunny Hello Sunshine line but could not picture the papers used in big sheets, so I cut them into strips and fussy cut the flowers and hexagons from them instead.  I created the titles and large yellow journaling hexagon in my Sure Cuts a Lot program.  The photo doesn't show it really well, but the flowers on the bottom left are backed by dimensional tape and so are the hexagons grouped on the top right.

Popsicle Smiles

I forgot to post this layout this summer when I made it.  I still need to get the photos of my girls on it, but I wanted to get it posted.  I LOVE this paper line and can't wait to make a more traditional layout with some more of it.  I created the chevron strip with a square punch.  The squares were punched and then cut diagonally.  To start the border at one end cut one of the diagonal pieces in half from the point to the center of the longer side and place the cut edge on the edge of the background paper (point down). Start the top row by placing the point up (long edge down) and matching the end of the lower side to the edge of this piece to the side of the background paper. Stagger the pieces to finish the strip.  There are two photo/journal tags tucked into the lower border.  I found the cute popsicle buttons at Michaels.  The mice, ice cream cart, and title are from "Popsicle Smiles" a Scrapping Bug Designs paper piecing.  This file goes together very well and was a lot of fun to put together!

Just Add Water

I created this layout using We R Memory Keepers Boardwalk collection and a paper piecing file from Scrapping Bug Designs titled "Just Add Water."  I'm loving the We R Memory Keepers solid papers.  I love the texture and how well they cut for paper piecing.
