Snowmen
I love snowmen, so this was the perfect excuse to do some winter projects/gifts with them.
For my first project, I bought a six inch clear candle holder at Walmart. I bought the bottom trim in the fabric department, and the beaded top was a Chirstmas ornament/package topper. I used the Winter Blessings file from Scrapping Bug Designs and cut the white part of the snowmen out of vinyl. I first tried paper, but due to the candle holder being a bit tapered at the bottom I had to switch to vinyl. The other pieces are paper. I used my fabric tac to adhere the paper and glue dots to hold the trims. I added a bit of fake snow in the bottom, and now it only needs a white candle to finish it off. This would make a great decoration for any table or shelf and could easily be kept out through January.
My second project is a winter themed shadow box. I again used the snowman from the Winter Blessings file. The photo mat is zig-zag stitched and sized for a 4x6 photo, and I again added some loose fake snow. I haven't added the vinyl word to the outside glass, because I haven't decided who I'm going to give this to yet. I wanted to wait until I find just the right photo and then add an appropriate inspirational word in vinyl. The shadowbox is another Walmart find, since there are no craft stores within a 1.5 hour drive of me.
Thank you for stopping by and checking out my projects. If gingerbread men are more your thing, please scroll down a few posts to see an adorable gift tin filled with mini recipe book, cookie jar, and an appliqued apron.
