Just Treats

What's more Halloween than a patch of pumpkins, spiders, and black cats?  I combined some Bo Bunny, Graphic 45, SEI, and We R Memory Keepers papers to create this layout with the "No Tricks, Just Treats" paper piecing from Scrapping Bug Designs.  I found the Lori Whitlock tag on her site and printed it to coordinate with the paper pieced spider.  The eyes on the cats are print and cut eyes from Scrapping Bug Designs.

Autumn

In just the last week and a half autumn finally decided to show up here.  Our first frost came a month later than usual.  Just as the trees came into their colors, the snow began falling.  I've had snow on the pass that I drive to work for three days this week.  I decided to make this layout before the fall season is entirely gone!  This layout features a combination of files from Scrapping Bug Designs:  "Fall Scarecrow" (sunflowers, pumpkins, and scarecrow), "Autumn" (title, and barrel with leaves), "Fabulous Fall" (fence), and "Just Beeing Cute" (wagon).  There are 162 pieces in all not counting the tag, mats, and border.  This layout was featured at Sugar and Spice Paper Co. for the October paper piecing class.  Thanks for looking.

Fishin' Tales

What person that fishes doesn't have some sort of fishing tale?  This layout features Bo Bunny Camp-a-Lot papers and paper piecings from My Scrap Chick.  The bear on the top right was enlarged to 180% so it would fit behind the mat.  Two trees from Scrapping Bug Designs were cut to continue the tree pattern from the left page to behind the dock.  I love the little bait shop and will be altering it to use on future woodsy layouts.

October Perfect Pages

This month I wanted to feature some of the latest shapes in scrapbooking trends: the chevron and hexagon.  The layouts do not feature photos due to them being a collection for a class at Sugar and Spice Paper Co.  Spaces have been left for individual personalization and journaling.

Fall

This layout uses a square punch cut diagonally to create the 2 1/2 rows of chevrons.  I am liking using this method with a variety of prints.   I must admit that individually I wouldn't have thought of this bright green and the aqua for a fall layout, but I like the non traditional feel to the layout.  The flowers are all made from circle and scallop punches and are topped with a button laced with some twine.  I'd love to finish this one off with a scarecrow on the right hand side with just enough space left above for some journaling.

The Great Outdoors

I have been inspired by the new Bo Bunny Camp-a-Lot line which is featured on both pages of this layout.  The marshmallow, brown dot, and hexagon papers are from Moxie.  The hexagons were individually cut and then puzzle pieced to make a path across the paper.  The mats are finished off with some fibers in burgundy and brown.  It's hard to see in this photo, but there is a paw print punched strip from an EK Success punch near the center of the right hand page.

Lazy Days of Summer

I loved the vibrant colors of the Bo Bunny Hello Sunshine line but could not picture the papers used in big sheets, so I cut them into strips and fussy cut the flowers and hexagons from them instead.  I created the titles and large yellow journaling hexagon in my Sure Cuts a Lot program.  The photo doesn't show it really well, but the flowers on the bottom left are backed by dimensional tape and so are the hexagons grouped on the top right.

Popsicle Smiles

I forgot to post this layout this summer when I made it.  I still need to get the photos of my girls on it, but I wanted to get it posted.  I LOVE this paper line and can't wait to make a more traditional layout with some more of it.  I created the chevron strip with a square punch.  The squares were punched and then cut diagonally.  To start the border at one end cut one of the diagonal pieces in half from the point to the center of the longer side and place the cut edge on the edge of the background paper (point down). Start the top row by placing the point up (long edge down) and matching the end of the lower side to the edge of this piece to the side of the background paper. Stagger the pieces to finish the strip.  There are two photo/journal tags tucked into the lower border.  I found the cute popsicle buttons at Michaels.  The mice, ice cream cart, and title are from "Popsicle Smiles" a Scrapping Bug Designs paper piecing.  This file goes together very well and was a lot of fun to put together!

Just Add Water

I created this layout using We R Memory Keepers Boardwalk collection and a paper piecing file from Scrapping Bug Designs titled "Just Add Water."  I'm loving the We R Memory Keepers solid papers.  I love the texture and how well they cut for paper piecing.

July Perfect Pages

This is a collection of double page layouts created for the July 17, 2012 Perfect Pages class at Sugar and Spice Paper Co. in Central Point, Oregon. The "God Bless the USA" layout is one of my all time favorites. I love red, white, and blue color combination!

God Bless the USA

     T
The top layout features titles from Cricut carttridges. The left page features a shaker star at the bottom, and the vellum text is part of "God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwood.

Fair Time, Fun Time

July and August are fair time around here. This layout should work for those who exhibit animals at the fair and those who go for the entertainment. I created the titles in SCAL and all of the pieces are cut from various Cricut cartridges.

Our Secret Family Recipe

What's summer without cherries and some great family treats?  Don't forget to use up some of your holiday papers by using the B side in other layouts.  The red background is a Christmas paper.  The checkerboard piece was cut using the Floral Bursts Lucky 8 punch and is a very close match to the precut piece on the right that features the Made with Love embossing.

Happy Birthday Koalas

Layout featuring "Happy Birthday Koalas" from Scrapping Bug Designs.  Since participants at the last paper piecing class at Sugar and Spice Paper Co. requested a birthday layout for the next class, this will be the June 19th class from 6-8 pm.  This is a great layout for either a girl or a boy.  Colors could easily be swapped out to make it go more for one or the other.  Leave a request if you'd like more information or details.

May Perfect Pages

Simple Joys

Bloom Where You're Planted

These are the three layouts I did for the Sugar & Spice Paper Company "Perfect Pages" class in May.   The classes are usually 6-8 pm on the 3rd or 4th Tuesday of the month.  Call the store for more details (541) 665-7131.

The top two are made from the new SEI Vanilla Sunshine line.  The layouts include fabric swatches, stickers, border strips and fabulous textured papers from the line.  I love the vibrant colors and combination of florals and other prints in this line.  There are so many possibilities!  The aqua and pink combination in the top one has to be one of my favorites!

Special Man

The bottom layout was made with Father's Day in mind.  I used papers from We R Memory Keepers and created my own title using Sure Cuts a Lot.  The fishing vest and lures were inspired by SVG cuts.  The large scallop circle was punched with the Retro Lucky 8 punch.

Please check in next month to see the next class kit.  Thanks for stopping by!

Family Layout

Paper pieced layout using "Mostly Sweet" and the trees from "Sugar and Spice" file from Scrapping Bug Designs.  I tried something new by adding some blue on the squirrel eyes.  There is about 144 pieces in this layout!  Despite the large number of pieces, these go together really nicely.  Some close ups of the piecings are below.  The top of two of the mats are embossed, and so is the top of the hidden journaling tag on the right page.

The Hunt

Paper pieced layout using Scrapping Bug Designs "The Hunt".  The carrot was enlarged from the file to create a journaling spot.  The egg was also enlarged and decorations added to create a removeable hidden journaling spot.  The layout was created using papers from the new We R Memory Keepers Baby of Mine line. I love the bright cardstock that came with this line!

This layout will be featured in an April 11, 2012 piecing class at Sugar and Spice Paper Co.

Signs of Spring

March Perfect Pages class for Sugar and Spice Paper company.

Layout using Head of Cabbage from Jillibean Soup as inspiration.

Peachy Keen paper line layout.  The circle was punched with the newly released Retro Lucky 8 punch.

About a Girl layout with Fiskars punches and a Martha Stewart punched butterfly.  By turning the flowers from the bottom to the upper left, I was able to use some of the pre-printed image papers that I usually veer away from.  I like how the blue flower ended up in each coner.

It's March

I decided to make a layout to welcome spring.  I'm ready for some nice warm springlike days.  These were different colors than I usually use, but I like how the layout turned out.  My first crafting love was sewing, so I like any layout with stitching and buttons.  The papers are all American Crafts Peachy Keen, and the flowers are all punches.  This was my first banner, and I've decided I love them and will be using them again soon!  You can see this layout in person at Sugar and Spice Paper Company in Central Point, Oregon.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Happy Valentine's Day Projects

These are some Valentine's Day projects that I made using patterns from Scrapping Bug Designs.   The top grouping is made from:  Cupid's Cuties,  Love Stinks, Nuts About You, Key to my Heart, and Love Muffin.  The piecings are glued to some little boxes with ribbon handles that I picked up after Christmas on clearance for $.25.  My two year old helped pick out the patterns for each of the staff at her toddler program.  The card was made using  Beary Luvable also from SBD.

SBD DT Challenge Layout

Just a one page layout for a challenge to the DT that Jane of Scrapping Bug Designs DT posted a week ago.  I love how the colors all came together.  Not a traditional back to school layout, but I love how girlie it is!  The paper piecing is from SBD "Sugar and Spice" file.

Tweet Heart

I used the "Winter Tweets" file without the snow gear and the birdhouse from "Winter Blessings" (both from Scrapping Bug Designs) to make a layout with this fun new bird valentine paper and some papers from my stash.  The weather has been so sunny, although cold, that it has me thinking a bit about spring-just like this layout.

Little Yellow Bicycle Challenge Layout

This layout was created using the beautiful new Winter Twig collection from Little Yellow Bicycle.  Since we haven't had any winter weather here to help with the photo opportunities, I had to use some old winter photos.  The pink and red made it difficult to use the beautiful aqua colored papers that made me fall in love with the collection.  If I had it to do over, I think I'd use black and white photos.  I can't wait for some more winter photos so I can use some more of this line!  This layout was for the LYB December challenge with the page map below from Liz Qualman.

Love U Forever

When this "Love U Forever" paper piecing came out from Scrapping Bug Designs, I knew I had to scrap these photos to go with it.  Since my daughter was born, we have called her Hailee Bug, and her room is decorated in ladybugs-including her favorite pillow!  In my search for papers, I found these Bella Blvd papers in my Christmas stash that I was packing away.  I love how they look with the valentines decorations!
